I recently visited Canton in Baltimore for the first time ever. I heard alot of great things about it so i convinced my friends to go. It reminded me alot of Fells Point mainly because of the streets where the bars are lcoated. We went into the first bar called Claddagh Pub because we were lucky enough to find a parking spot right out front. When we entered, we were somewhat overwhelmed with the amount of people in there. We are used to big crowds but I guess we just didn't know what to expect from places in Canton. We walked around the bar and decided it was too packed, so we left and ventured off to another bar across the street.
This bar was called Coburn's Tavern. There was much more space to breath here. We walked around the first floor and made our way up to the second floor where there was a dance floor and more of a crowd. We weren't in the mood to dance so instead we went back downstairs and found ourselves a seat at the bar.
We immediately found ourselves chatting up a storm with the bartender who kept giving us free drinks. This was like the best night ever! Rarely in Towson do bartenders continue to hand out free drinks to the same people all night. My friends and I found that the crowd was much more mature and laid back that those of Towson bars and Powerplant. We were definitely feeling Canton for sure! We all loved the change in scenery and people that Canton had to offer and we definitely will return there very soon and more often!

Comedy Factory in Baltimore, MD
If no one has ever been to a comedy club or seen a comedian, then you are truly missing out. The first time I ever went was last year in downtown Baltimore at the Comedy Factory on the corner of Light Street. I went with a group of my friends, all girls, and they sat us in the front and center. We knew we were in for it. I think they did this purposely because we were a bunch of girls and probably easy to pick on. Needless to say we were the "butt" of many jokes that the comedian was telling. Although we were all being made fun of, it was such a great time and we could not stop laughing!
I recommend that everyone try to see a comedian in person sometime soon! It's great when you are young and just need a good laugh to get away from all the school work and stress, but it's great for people of all ages. If you appreciate any type of humor, you will certainly enjoy yourself!
At the comedy factory in Baltimore, the shows run every Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights and the shows are at 7PM, 9PM, and 11PM. Check out the website at http://www.baltimorecomedy.com/

This past weekend was the Halloween Bar Crawl in Towson. Costumes were optional but most people were dressed out for the fun holiday. I believe Halloween is a holiday that many students look forward to because it gives you an excuse to dress up and wear things you wouldnt normally wear.
The bars that were participating in the crawl were: CVP, Green Turtle, The Kent, Rec Room, Lil' Dickey's, Batemans, and Casa Mia's. In order to take part in the crawl, you were required to purchase a bracelet which took place at CVP. Once you had the bracelet, you were allowed to hop from bar to bar without having to pay a cover charge.
Although many bars were involved, my friends and I only made it to two: CVP and Green Turtle. They were both alot of fun! I saw many good costumes, some original and some creative. Overall it was a great night!

Angels Rock Bar
Angels Rock Bar is located downtown at the Powerplant in Baltimore. It is a fairly new bar that focuses on creating a high energy rock venue where celebrity DJs and live acts play. The Angels Rock Bar seems to be more of a high scale bar, selling bottles of liquor and charging $500 a night to sit in the VIP section.
I visited the new bar with a few friends of mine. It was a Thursday night so I thought it would be a bit crowed being a new and hip place. However, it was quite dead. There was maybe 40 people there all spread out between the outside seating and inside seating, and also VIP section. Although there wasn't much of a crowd, my friends and made our own fun by drinking waay too many yager bombs and hanging on the chains that hang from the ceiling separating the room into different sections. We also got invited into the VIP section which was kind of lame because there was nothin VIP about it. All you had to do was walk up two steps and there you were. No curtains or walls to make it more private.
